To cycle through the light modes, press and hold the function button.After you've set up the controller to your taste, release the function button before letting go of the analog stick or trigger. This is the first wired controller Ive gotten for my xbox one and the main feature (well the glowing part as well) that attracted me was the protection it gives the micro-USB cables end (that plugs into the controller) so that it doesnt break off if you drop it or something (this controller is wired only - you cant use it unless its plugged in via micro-USB 10 included).
